s9Bm Raised In Loans (ft.Z. Press Association, WELLINGTON, July 25. Local authorities raised a record amount of $98.5m in the year ended March, 1989, according to the annual report of the Local Authorities Loans Board. The report was tabled in Parliament today by the Minister of Finance (Mr Muldoon). Although there were difficulties in some areas, notably Auckland, local authorities generally were able to raise sufficient to meet their re-
quirements, the report said. However, there were indications that loan - raising would be more difficult in 1969-70. The total amount approved in the year for new works was SB6Bm, while the total referred . back, declined or deferred was $18.3m.
