(N.Z. Press Association) MELBOURNE. An Alcimedes six-year-old having his first start over jumps was ridden to victory by the New Zealand jockey. B. L. Hillis, at Moonee Valley yester(Alcimedes —Sea Blue) won the Trial Hurdles by two lengths and a half from Valiant Hawk, with the Summertime gelding, Summer Blend, third. Hillis was to ride Untouchable. one of the four jumpers he and J. Davis, brought to Melbourne for the winter carnivals.

But Hillis switched to Sacimo. which is trained by a former New Zealander. T. Howe. Last Saturday Howe won the Grand National Hurdles with Brother Bart.

Untouchable was pulled up during yesterday’s race.
