AUCKLAND LEAGUE

R. W. Bailey Returns R. W. Bailey, the 1961-67 Ntew Zealand centre, will return to the Auckland Rugby league team, as captain for the match against Canterbury, at Carlaw Park, on Saturday. One of nine Kiwis in the Auckland team, Bailey missed the test series against Australia and Auckland’s earlier matches against the tourists and Wellington because of injury. The only non-internationals in the Auckland team are J. Young, the North Island XIII full-back, the promising wing, P. Gore, and the New Zealand under-23 players, R. McGuinn (wing) and R. Muru (prop). McGuinn withdrew from the first test team this season when he was injured after being selected. The team, announced by Messrs D. A. Barchard, R. Cranch and R. D. Hammond is: Young: McGuin, F. R. Christian. Bailey (captain), Gore: G. J. Woollard, E. M. Carson; Muru, L. S. Morgan. O. G. Danielson; E. D. Wiggs, A. P. Kriletich; H. R. Sinel. Reserves: W. Redmond, P. J. Schultz, D. J. Gailey, G. Ramsay, H. Tatana.
