Overcall Wins At Yonkers

Overcall won the second leg of the international series at Yonkers Raceway last Friday, Nardin’s Bird finishing -a length and a half back second, al* most two lengths in front of Twinkle Hanover. Cardinal Garrison went a poor race for fifth, with Cardinal King beaten oft last of the seven runners. Overcall twice overcame what his driver, D. Insko, described as ‘'interference” to pace the 10 furlongs in 2:32 2-5. Overcall was twice forced wide by the New Zealand reinsman, R. M. Cameron. Later, a forgiving Insko told how he had shouted to Cameron during the course of the race: “You’d better read our rule book.” Cameron, In a post-race interview, said he was unaware he had interfered with Overcall. “You drive to win, don’t you?”- Cameron asked.
