Tramway To Close
With the coming of winter and a subsequent fall in passenger numbers, the tramway at Ferrymead will be closed for two months. This was decided at the wCek-end by the Tramways Historical Society at Ferrymead. The steam tram and trailers will be overhauled and one section of the track will be lifted and realigned. The society would reopen the line on the first Sunday of the August school holidays, August 17, said a spokesman yesterday.
