CAPPING ISSUES

Students May Meet Canterbury University students have by no means finished with the issue of capping week changes, and a general meeting of the Students’ Association on the questions raised is likely. “After heated discussion at the students* forum at the city site, after the meeting of the Students' Representative -Council, it is almost cer-

tain that a number of students will petition for a general meeting of the association," said the president (Mr P. Grocott) yesterday.

He said students dissatisfied with the decisions of the council would probably arrange a netition which had to be signed by 75 students. A general meeting could over-ride decisions taken by the S.R.C. meeting. “I feel capping as it exists is in need of a considerable overhaul,” Mr Grocott said. “The S.R.C. proposals are a start in the right direction. “The worst thing that could happen as the result of latest developments is that no changes are made ” he said.
