West Indies Hit Two Centuries

The opener, M. C. Carew, and C. H. Lloya headed the West Indian batting with a century each yesterday in their cricket match against Somerset.
The West Indians were 422 for four wickets in their first innings at the close. Carew, playing his first game since breaking a little finger last montb, batted smoothly for 122, and the bighitting Lloyd slammed a rapid 128 not out. He hit a six that soared out of the ground into a nearby graveyard and took 140 minutes over his century. The left - handed Carew, after playing himself in with a half-century in two hours 40 minutes, speeded up his scoring rate after lunch to
score his next 50 in just over two hours. He hit 15 fours. M. L. C. Foster was 51 not: out and R. A. Fredericks 51.) Lloyd, who hit two sixes and' 15 fours, and Foster finished! the day brightly with 106) runs in the last 65 minutes. !
