Death After Accident

One of the three women who were injured when the truck they were in overturned and caught fire at Westerfield, 10 miles from Ashburton, on Wednesday afternoon, died in the Burwood Hospital yesterday. She was Elizabeth Annie Fisher, a widow, of 10 Bullock Street, Ashburton.

The condition of Mrs Fisher’s daughter, Miss Shirley Fisher, of the same address, was described last evening as satisfactory. Miss Joan Mackintosh, of 19 Creek Road, Ashburton, was discharged from hospital yesterday.
