Mr Nixon Endorsed
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 15. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) told Parliament today he was happy to endorse the statement of President Nixon on Vietnam.
“It has the full backing of the New Zealand Government,” he said. Mr Holyoake raised Mr Nixon’s eight-point plan for bringing about a peaceful settlement of the war. It was the first business in the House of Representatives after , the opening of the session. The Prime Minister said that Mr Nixon’s statement opened up new and promising opportunities for bringing the war to an end.
