Violence In Venezuela
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CARACAS, May 14. At least one person was killed today as students demanding educational reforms demonstrated in several Venezuelan cities. Police said a 19-year-old economics student at Los Andes University in Merida, south-west of Caracas, was killed as National Guardsmen went into action against youths who set fire to several cars and buses.
In Valencia, western Venezuela, some 5000 students roamed the streets last night burning car tyres and robbing bus conductors and petrol station attendants. Other minor outbreaks of student violence were reported in Caracas.
