WELLINGTON, May 11. Mr C. V. Tait, a sales representative of Hamilton, expects to leave Hamilton Airport at 9 a.m. tomorrow on the first leg of his round-the-world flight Mr Tait his family, and Mr A. Coleman, the proprietor of Aero Engine Services, Ltd, the manufacturers of the aircraft were at the airport yesterday to help clean the Airtourer 115 and complete last-minute preparations.
Completion of the flight still depends on clearance from Soviet authorities to land on Russian territory between Japan and the Kamchatka Peninsula.
“If this is not permitted, there are only two ways I can go—either by ship to Vancouver, which is financially out of the question, or retrace my steps,” Mr Tait said yesterday. He has allowed himself as flexible a schedule as possible.
