BOWLS OFFICIALS Only the required number of four nominations have been received by the New Zealand Bowling Association for its four senior positions, and these men will assume office at the annual meeting to be held in Christchurch on June 25.
The nominations are: president, Mr M. A. Le Cren (Christchurch); immediate past-president, Mr J. R. Molloy (Auckland); senior vicepresident, Mr A. J. McDonald (Wellington); junior vicepresident, Mr C. G. Payton (Dunedin).—N.Z.P.A., Dunedin.
OPENING HATCH The British Barbarians open their six-match Rugby tour of South Africa today against, the tough Quaggas side, and on paper look firm favourites to win.
There are 12 internationals in the British side.
