N.Z. Riders May Race In British Tour

WELLINGTON.

The cyclists, J. A. Dean and B. R. Beeston, who represented New Zealand at the Mexico Olympic Games, may be included in a composite team competing in the two-week Tour of Britain, starting on May 24.

Mr A. Haslett, a New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association spokesman, said yesterday that the organiser <rf the race, Mr Maurice Cumberworth, had written that he had yet to select the team from Australians, Norwegians and the two New Zealanders.

Other teams competing in , the' tour include Russia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Switzerland, the Netherlands and a number of British entries. New Zealand was last repre- , sented in the event when D. R. A team of 30 boys left Christchurch Airport yesterday afternoon, under the guidance of the professional tennis coach, Mr N. H. Hoskin, of Oamaru, to compete in the New South Wales under-age and schoolboy tournaments. Ten parents accompanied the boys on the 17-day trip.
