Collection Down
Money collected by Canterbury students for the Christchurch Special Class AfterCare Society yesterday fell well below the target of $lO,OOO.
Bad weather was blamed for the amount of $6318. The central point for the collection was the Civic Theatre, from where the money was taken to the premises of a security firm and counted in an automatic counting machine. Last year the students collected $lO,OOO for the Paraplegics Association.
