MARKETING OF WOOL

Explanatory Brochures

(From Our Own Reporter)

WELLINGTON, May 6.

The Wool Board will produce for farmers a series of explanatory brochures on wool marketing. A plea for such help to farmers had been made by the member of Parliament for Ashburton (Mr R. C. G. Talbot, Nat.). “During the last few months I have addressed about 20 meetings throughout Mid and South Canterbury and have taken the opportunity to discuss the marketing scheme as produced by the wool marketing study group,” Mr Talbot said today. “At all meetings where this was discussed, I was amazed at the small amount of knowledge farmers have of this proposed scheme for the 'appraisal and purchase* of wool.

“Before changes are made in our marketing system it is imperative' that they be understood and supported by the majority of growers,” said Mr Talbot.
