The Christchurch Young Men’s Christian Association will be able to proceed with the first stage of its planned additional facilities at its Greers Road centre.
The Special Town and Country Planning Appeal ‘ Board has disallowed appeals ! by owners and occupiers of ' nearby land against the City ' Council’s permission for the association to make tbe-addi-i tions. The appeals were on ; the ground of increased • noise. < The appellants could have j no reasonable cause to fear ' that the first stage of the additions would add to the noises already causing them i annoyance, the board's def cision said. ......1 .. Most of the other comI plaints related to what might be expected where young persons gathered for amusement and recreation and must be put up with provided it ended at a reasonable hour.
