N.Z. Worker For India
Miss E. J. Hitchcock, of Nelson, who has worked in
Hong Kong for three years from 1965 to 1968 as a fraternal worker for the National Council of Churches, has left New Zealand to become secretary to the principal of the medical college of Ludhiana Hospital, North India. The assignment which is also as a fraternal worker for the council, is for four years. Before going to Hong Kong, Miss Hitchcock was employed for several years in the Christchurch office of the council. During this time she worked as secretary to the Rev. A. A. Brash.
While working In Hong Kong she shared with Mr Brash the title of honorary fraternal worker of the N.C.C.
Miss Hitchcock will bring the number of N.C.C. fraternal workers serving overseas to 19. At present there are seven other workers in India, seven in South East Asia, two in Africa, and two in the Pacific Islands.
