WITNESSES MEET

Sixteen Jehovah's Witnesses were baptised by immerson at the circuit convention of the sect held during the week-end at Cashmere High School. The District Supervisor for New Zealand (Mr H. J. Benesch) gave a public lecture on "Law and Order— When and How" to an audience of 988. He said that a breakdown in law and order had occurred because of failings in the legal system, immoral and greedy desires, and the influence of the Devil.

There were 681 preachers active in the circuit, Mr Benesch said.
