SPRINGSTON ELECTION
The by-election for the Springston riding seat on the Ellesmere County Council on ; Saturday was won by Mr R. H. D. Hudson with 266 votes.; The other candidate, Mr D. G. Scott, polled 139 votes. No informal votes were least and the voting repreisented a poll of 28.8 per cent ' In postal voting at the local body elections in October a poll of 58.6 per cent was ‘achieved for the only election, in the district, for the Central 1 | Canterbury Electric Power Board.
