' Industrial Stoppages '.V Z Press Ajsociataon' WELLINGTON, April 17. Workers lost more than Sim in wages through industrial stoppages last year, the Government Statistician (Mr J. V. T. Baker) said tonight. The estimated loss was i $1,096,800, compared with • $869. ICO in 1967 and i $878,200 in 1966. Although 1 there were more industrial I stoppages last year than in i !967, fewer working days • were lost. > There were 153 industrial t stoppages last year, compared f with 89 in 1967 and 146 in 1966 Working days lost through t the 1968 stoppages totalled > 130,267. an average of 348 - days for each worker ini' votved. compared with 139.490 > days lost in 1967 at an average of 4 9 days.
