Three Ships To Visit N.Z.

WELLINGTON, April 18. Three warships of the Republic of China's Navy will visit Wellington from May 8 to May 10. They will be the first ships of the Chinese Navy to call at a New Zealand port. The goodwill visit by 840 naval men will also serve as a training cruise for 162 mid- ' shipmen aboard the vessels. The ships are the destroyer jKun Yang, flagship of Rear Admiral Liu Ting-pang, the I destroyer escort Tai Yuan, ! and the frigate Hua Shan. The vessels are not listed in “Jane's Fighting Ships,” but are believed to be former 'United States Navy vessels. Admiral Liu. commander of • the navy's midshipmen training squadron, will make several courtesy calls in Welling-, ton.
