Tabak Returning To Ride In Tours”
After almost two highly successful seasons in Europe, the brilliant racing cyclist, T. J. Tabak, will return to New Zealand towards the end of this year.

He has already set the record of winning all three fori two years in succession, in 1966 and 1967, and after his experience on the Continent, Tabak would have very strong possibilities of repeating this feat. Tabak’s father, Mr G. Tabak said yesterday that his son was not returning to New Zealand because he was not riding successfully in Europe. “Tino is regarded as the top amateur in the Netherlands,” said Mr Tabak. “He is in demand by other riders who want to compete with him in the indoor six-day races.” At this stage it is not known how long Tabak will be in New Zealand, but It is expected that he will remain for some time after the tours. Mr Tabak said that his son was hoping to get the finance for his fare home after riding in a 180-kilometre classic last week-end. He had not yet heard how his son fared.
