Grass Track Racing

A quarter-mile grass track for motor-cycle racing is being established at Sefton by the Pioneer Motor Club and will be officially opened on Sunday, May 11. Grass track racing was rapidly becoming one of the top motor-cycle sports in England, the club captain of the club (Mr E. Wharnsby) said. The new track, which would be on Mr H. Wilson's property and had the approval of the Kowai County Council, was expected to attract riders from all parts of the South Island.

A practice day will be held on May 3 to enable riders to get used to riding on a quarter-mile oval. Meetings will be held every two months for a trial period of one year.
