Dr H. J. H. Hiddlestone has been appointed Deputy Director of the Hospitals Division of the Department of Health. He is at present medical superintendent-in-chief to the Southland Hospital Board and was formerly medical superintendent at Nelson. Mr P. H. Milburn has been appointed chief vocational guidance officer for the Christchurch district, and will take up his duties after Easter. He has been chief vocational guidance officer for Otago for a number of years and before that was a senior officer in Wellington.— (F.0.0.R.) Mr B. L. Hewitt, news editor of the New Zealand Press Association for the last five years, has resigned to join the New Zealand company of a British international public relations group. He will join the company in Wellington in May. Mr Hewitt, who began his journalistic career with “The Press,” has been with the Press Association for 21 years.
