Mr N. S. Coad, Commissioner of Crown Lands in Christchurch, has been appointed Assistant Direc-tor-General of the Lands and Survey Department. He will take up his appointment in Wellington in August on the retirement of Mr E. J. Lynskey. Mr Coad became the youngest commissioner appointed in New Zealand when he took up his present position in 1963 at the age of 39 after Mr G. J. Watt retired.
