FIELD OF TEN APPROVED

A field of 10 selected horses will contest the $3OOO Anzac Day Flying Mile at the Canterbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting at Addington Raceway on Anzac Day.

Seven horses will start from; the front line from behind the mobile barrier and three ini the second line. In addition,: the right of re-entry will be given to three horses. The I limit for the race will be 2min 12sec. The Alamein Free-for-all. will be the feature race for trotters. This race will carry! a stake of 82500 and will be run over 10 furlongs. Onlv two races will be started from a standing start.

They will be the Cassino Handicap, a race for 2inin 16sec class trotters, and the Air Force Stakes, a two-mile race for 2min 17sec class pacers. Stakes to be distributed at the meeting amount to 814,500 for a nine-race programme. The Auckland Trotting Club will race the same day and will distribute 810.900 for an eight-race programme. The feature race there will be the All Aged Stakes, of 52500, to be run over 12 furlongs.

Three-year-olds will start from the limit, four-year-olds from 18 yards, and five-year-olds and older’from 30 yards. Any horse assessed at 2min lOsec and faster will be penalised a further 12 yards.
