Thai Golf Entry

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) BANGKOK. Three New Zealanders—J. M. Lister, W. J. Godfrey, and T. Kendall—are 'in a record entry of 126 to compete in the Thai open golf championship, starting at Don Muang today. The championship, fourth leg in the Asian golf circuit, has a totgl purse of $10,715. The winner will get $1786 and a trophy presented by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Japan heads the list of foreign golfers 'with 31 entries, followed by Taiwan, 14, and the United States, 10. Other foreign entries included nine each from Australia and the Philippines, six from South Korea, three from New Zealand, two each from Britain and Spain, and one each from Singapore and Burma.

The Australian, R. Vines, who won the championship last year, is certain to meet stiff competition from the Japanese and other Asian players who are more familiar with the course and used to the extremely humid climate. Among the Japanese are H. Yasuda, winner of the Philippines Open.
