FREEZING WORKS
Nationalisation Urged (N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, Feb. 6. Freezing works which were in danger of being taken over by other companies should be bought by the Government, the Freezing Workers and Related Trades’ Association decided at its annual conference in Hastings yesterday. The association represents the Gisborne and Whakatu works in the North Island and all South Island works.
The remit was prompted by the possible take-over of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company by the Waitaki.Farmers’ Freezing Company.
