J. C. Ogier, the rally driver who was at the wheel of L. Bianchi’s Citroen when it crashed while leading in the London to Sydney car rally last month, has led a French team to victory in the second Safari Caledonien car rally round New Caledonia.

Second to complete the rugged 900-mile course were C. Bond and B. Hope (Australia), and R. Holden and H. Jean (New Caledonia) were third.
