Weasel Or Stoat Was Villain
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, Jan. 7.
Lynne Robson, of the Mercury Theatre, has a bone to pick with a weasel or a stoat. During a dress rehearsal for the Mercury production of "Toad of Toad Hall” Miss Robson, who plays Phoebe, was knocked unconscious by a cudgel wielded by a weasel or a stoat. She was taken to the Auck-
[land Hospital where she was 'detained overnight for observation.
As a result of the accident, which occurred during a fadeout on stage, Miss Robson missed the opening performances of the production. Her place was taken by Franki Orbell. In a quick reshuffle of parts Don Walker gave up his role as the rear end of a horse to take Miss Orbell’s part as the washerwoman.
But Miss Robson made a quick recovery and business was back to normal at Toad Hall on Monday night where after a friendly pat on the head from Toad—the blow was probably intended for him any way—Miss Robson was able to carry on with her part.
