Accommodation At Westport

Sir,—May I be permitted to comment on and add to a portion of the report which appeared on page 7 of your issue on Saturday. January 4, under the caption, “Visitors to

Westport. Accommodation Shortage”? In addition to the members of this association and their families, the facilities at our Carters Beach motor camp are available also to members of the 14 other automobile associations in this country and to members of kindred overseas motoring clubs. Furthermore, the camp manager and our Westport agent can readily enrol nonmembers who wish to stay there, which means that the opportunity to enjoy the amenities is not as restricted) as suggested by your report.— Yours, etc., C. G. COOK, Secretary, Automobile Association (Canterbury). January 6, 1968.
