Mr J. M. Dempsey has succeeded to the post of Chief Mechanical Engineer of ) Railways. He replaces Mr L. ] M. Johnston, who has retired.—(P.A.) Professor C. J. Adcock, of] Victoria University, was re-] elected president of the Esperanto Association, at the as-] sociation’s annual meeting in Blenheim.—(P.A.) Mr W. J. Boyd, who has been district vocational guidance officer in Christchurch ] since December, 1962, has been appointed to a similar post in Auckland, which he will take up in about a month. Mr Boyd came to Christchurch from Wellington, but during his 24 years in the Vocational Guidance Service has had several periods in Christchurch. He has also served in Dunedin.
