Fifield) said yesterday that those interested in attending the open day should get in touch with him at H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus. Supply Ships The first supply ships for the new season have reached Winter Quarters Bay, in MeMurdo Sound, for unloading to American bases. A fuel ship, the Alatna, and the Private John R. Towle are both alongside hard ice waiting for the Glacier and the Burton Island to finish clearing the channel into the bay and smash the ice round the unloading area. Ambulance Cadets One hundred St John Ambulance Brigade cadets between the ages of 11 and 17 from throughout New Zealand are attending the brigade’s biennial 10-day cadet camp at Waddington. The camp, under the command of the district officer at the Christchurch headquarters (Mr G. J. Hutton.), will end on Thursday. Twelve officers are also attending the camp. As well as recreational activities the boys are taking part in proficiency work such as camping and badge work.
