Pleasant Point Stock Sale
“The Press’* Special Service TIMARU, January 6. A small yarding of medium to good wether lambs met good competition for the first Pleasant Point stock sale of the year today. The best of them realised to $4.90 with others selling at $4.05 to $4.45, and small types from $1.75 to $3,40. A small pen of medium ewe lambs sold at $4. Other pens failed to reach vendors’ reserves. A small yarding of prime cattle, maiflly heifers, sold strongly at values above the reduced beef schedule. Heifers ranged from $77 to flo4, steers from $lO2 to $l2O. z <nd cows $BO to $Bl. A medium yarding of prime ewes showed little change in values ahd although heavy-weight-ewes were firm on late values. Wethers were also firm by 30 to 50c a head. Prices realised were: prime ewes, $2.05 to $2.65; heavy ewes, $1.60 to $2.55; best prime wethers, $7.50 to $8.40; others from $6.
