JEN HAI IN FAVOUR
"The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. ’ If the weather is fine at 1 Woodville tomorrow, the locally-trained Jen Hai should win the Pahiatua Cup, first leg of the double at the Pahiatua Racing Club's annual meeting. Were he to mis* the race, his stablemate, Hamua, would be an equallyattractive proposition. Both horses are prepared by last season’s top trainer, S. A. Brown, who yesterday said he planned to start only one in the first leg of the main double. W. D. Skelton has been engaged for whichever one goes to the post. Brown is planning a Wellington Cup appearance for Jen Hai and a win tomorrow would get him into the big cup at a favourable weight. He has Noir Filou engaged at Trentham also, R. B. Marsh has been engaged for him, and Brown will be looking for the best jockey he can find, if Jen Hai wins tomorrow.
In the second leg, the Ballance Handicap, the lightlyweighted Ana Kildare looks the top prospect.
