Record Fee For Dixon
t.V.Z. Press Assn—Copgright) LONDON. The Salford Rugby League elub has paid a world record fee for the transfer of the second row forward, C. Dixon, from Halifax, the “Guardian” reported. The fee for Dixon was 825.715 and in part exchange Salford transferred the wing, M. Kelley, who had been on its transfer list at $6439. So the fee for Dixon beat the world’s previous highest —the $28,885 paid to Hunslet by Leeds in 1961 for B. Shaw.
