In their final bid to gain a place in the tests against the i touring English women’s cricI ket team in February and [March, all 20 members of the New Zealand training squad will be playing in the national | inter-association contest at [ Devonport from December 27 to January 7. | The tournament, for the [Hallyburton-Johnstone Shield, will be staged for the first time by the five-year-old North Shore association. Wellington is the holder and will be at full strength, including six members of the national squad—P. McKelvie. D. Craig, B. Bevege, Y. Taylor. W. Coe, and J. Saulbrey North Shore has seven squad membres—B. Brentnail. J. Burley, J. Doull, E. White. J. Lord, C. Oyler, and M. Stewart. The other squad members are: L. Powell and E. Ryan (Auckland): A. McKenna, J. Olsen, K. Gilray, and J Stead (Canterbury); and L. Clough (Dunedin). The draw is:— December 27-28: Wellington v Auckland: Otago v. North Shore; Canterbury a bye. December 30-31; Wellington xNorth Shore: Otago v. Canter bury; Auckland a bye. Januarv 1-2: Wellington x Canterbury; North Shore v Auckland; Otago a bye. January 3-4: Wellington v.
