TROTTING Humphrey In Splendid Rangiora Cup Trial

Humphrey firmed in favour for the Rangiora Cup on Saturday with a dashing win at the Methven trials yesterday. Other sound efforts were returned by Maida Million, Norlight and Selwyn Hanover.

The trials were held in perfect weather with the track hard and fast.

| Humphrey was slow away in the first heat of the free-for-all, but he improved Sharply racing through the 'back straight, with Allakasam also improving a little from near the rear.

Sure Frost, which will be bracketed with Royal Mary in the Rangiora Raceway Stakes on Saturday, finished solidly to win the second heat, taking 2min 15 2-ssec for the last mile and Imin 5 2-ssec for the final four furlongs.
