“DON’T SELL,” WARNS TUI, TARANAKI
Tui Brewery, Ltd. Mangatainoka, and Taranaki Brewery, Ltd, New Plymouth. have issued "don’t sell” warnings to their shareholders. In a statement to the New Zealand Stock Exchange yesterday each company says that mutual discussions are being held, directed to a possible merger of the company with other interests. However, in a telephone interview last evening the
chairman of Taranaki (Mr G. B. Saunders) would make no comment on whether the discussions are being held between these two companies or whether a third company is involved. Each of the companies’ statements says that if,agreement in principle is reached a take-over offer will follow which could be of advantage to shareholders. Tui's share capital is $298,518 and Taranaki’s $692,906.
