I Cabbages and lettuces were iin plentiful supply at Christ* i church produce markets yes- ; terday and both these and most [other vegetables were slightly cheaper compared with prices lon Monday. i Cabbages were 30c cheaper at ifrom 10c to 30c a case and lettuces which sold from 10c to 50c a case were down 20c. Other notable decreases were pumpkins down $1 to $6 a sugar bag, silver beet cheaper by 50c at 50c a case and cauliflowers, which dropped from 80c to $l.BO a case to $1.50 a case. Spring onions and radishes, however, were both 10c dearer and white turnips were up 20c. The official range of produce prices supplied by the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers’ Association is: Marrows.—To $2.25 a case. Beetroot.—4oc to 80c a case. Carrots.—To $4.50 a case. Onions. —To $7.50 a sugar bag. White Turnips.—To SOc a case. Potatoes.—To $1.30 a sugar bag. Kumeras. —60c to $1 a sugar bag. Spring Onions.—soc to $l;10 a dozen bunches. Radishes.—4oc to 60c a dozen bunches. Parsley.—To 10c a bunch. Spinach.—4oc to 60c a case. Cucumbers. —To $1.20 a case. Cherries.—To 44c a lb. Strawberries. —18c to 27c a punnet. Raspberries.—2Bc to 35c a punnet. Grapefruit.—To $4 a case.
