Assault On Attendant

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. A service station attendant sprayed petrol on a man who assaulted him late tonight. The man drove off closely pursued by a traffic officer who was passing the service i station of Highway Motors (Otahuhu), Ltd, in Great South Road about the time of the assault. He was caught. The attendant, Andrew Louis Forsythe, aged about 50, was taken to Middlemore Hospital suffering from an injured nose and petrol in his eyes.

Otahuhu police arrested a 23-year-old man and charged him with assault and behaving in an offensive manner.
