VACANCIES—PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY APPLICATIONS are invited lor the following positions: SENIOR LECTURERS OR LECTURERS IN ENGLISH Applicants should have an Honours degree or a higher degree in English Language and Literature and should indicate in their application their special field of interest. Although preference may be given to applicants whose special interest is in 18th century poetry or modern drama, candidates with other special qualifications should not on that account be deterred from applying. SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Applicants must hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably at Honours level, of a recognised Commonwealth University, together with either experience in industry, or research and teaching experience at university level.

SENIOR LECTURERS OR LECTURERS IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING Applicants should possess a good honours or higher degree and have had industrial or research experience in one of the following fields: Systems Engineering with particular reference to Power Systems, Communications, or Solid State Engineering. Applications close on December 31, 1968. GENERAL CONDITIONS As from April 1, 1969, salary attached to the positions is as follows: Lecturer, $3lOO-$4BOO per annum; Senior Lecturer, $4700$5500 (bar), advanced range $5600-$6600 per annum. For an overseas appointee, salary will normally be paid from an approved date of embarkation. Approved fares to Christchurch will be paid.
