Townsend Leading
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The 22-year-old English professional, P. Townsend, shot away to a commanding lead in the $lO,OOO Wills Masters golf tournament yesterday. He had a course record, eight-under-par 65 for a tworound tally of 134. Townsend leads the former American Masters winner, G. Brewer (67, 70), by three strokes, with another Englishman, G. B. Wolstenholme (70, 68), a stroke away in third place. The South African, G. Player, with a three-under-par 70 yesterday is next, on 139. Brewer, the overnight leader, found trouble on the greens in his round of 70. W. J. Godfrey, of New Zealand, maintained his consistency with a 70. He has 141 for the two rounds.
