Candidates should be university graduates in engineering. SENIOR LECTURESHIPS/LECTURESHIPS IN GEOGRAPHY: For one appointment candidates should have academic qualifications and first hand research and experience in the regional geography of eastern and southeastern Asia. Candidates who are residents of Asian countries must be capable of lecturing fluentlv in English. It would be an advantage if candidates were also able to teach courses either in systematic cultural or systematic physical geography. For other appointments candidates should have qualifications and experience in EITHER systematic cultural geography (especially urban geography and geography of settlement, or social and political geography, or economic, including industrial, geography), OR systematic physical geography (geography of soils). Regional interests in Europe or South America or the Pacific would be desirable additional qualifications. This course is a new development and will be a prerequisite to the 3-year period of instruction leading to the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in the New Medical School of the University. SENIOR LECTURESHIPS/LECTURESHIPS IN EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY: Applicants should possess post-graduate qualifications in Experimental Psychology and have research interests in Mathematical or Physiological Psychology. They will be expected to have an ac tive interest in research. LECTURESHIP (LANGUAGE LABORATORY), Department of Romance Languages: Applicants should have at least an M.A. in French or equivalent qualifica tion and either have successfully completed a training course in language laboratory work or have some experience of this kind of work.

SENIOR LECTURESHIPS/LECTURESHIPS IN SOCIOLOGY: Applicants should have post-gradu-ate qualifications in sociology. Candidates with special interests in one or more of the sociology of deviant and abnormal behaviour, social phychology, and the family, will be given preference, but all applications will be considered.
