Southland Entries In Cycle Classic

The field for the Shirley Lodge cycling classic on Saturday has been boosted by the entries of three top Southland riders.

They are the New Zealand road and track champion, A. G. Ineson; a New Zealand track champion, D. L. Booth: and. the South Island titleholder, J. W. Adams. The presence of these three all very good sprinters, will add stature to the two-stage race which, it had been expected, would be dominated by the local champion, B. G.

Stockwell (Papanui). Ineson, especially, is a good performer in stage events and recently won a 108-mile onedaytour in Southland.

Saturday’s race is 105 miles in stages of 60 and 45 miles, and other visiting riders include the Otago back-marker, P. Goding, and the former Christchurch cash rider, R. T. Bryant (Nelson).
