Power Board Positions

Mr S. E. Slatter, at present Engineer-Manager to the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board, will become its senior executive from February 8, when he will be promoted to the new position of manager, consequent upon the retirement of the Secre-tary-Manager (Mr V. G. Mason).

Other promotions from within the staff to take effect next February were confirmed by the board yesterday. Mr I. S. Smith, now assistant secretary, will become secretary-treasurer, and Mr P. D. Rutledge, the assistant engineer, will become engineer. Mr B. W. Laing, the purchasing officer, will become assistant secretary, and Mr D. M. Harris, now assistant purchasing officer, will become purchasing officer. Mr Mason, who has been with the board for 44 years, was granted six months leave on pay from February 28, and a gratuity of six months salary.
