Bombing Halt Advocated

(NZ. PA.-Reuter —Copyright) NEW YORK, September 10. The former United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mr Arthur Goldberg, has urged an immediate halt to the American bombing of

North Vietnam, and says the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia should intensify American efforts towards an honourable political settlement of the Asian war. In his first major statement since leaving his United Nations post, Mr Goldberg said in the Long Island “Sunday Express:” “I am convinced that the time has come to halt all American bombing of North Vietnam in order to move forward to obtain an honourable political settlement of the war . . . “By now we should be ready'to disclaim any goal of a military victory in Vietnam in the usual sense . . .”
