REFORM OF SENATE
Merger Planned In France (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) PARIS, September 10. General de Gaulle yesterday announced his Government’s intention of merging the Senate—Upper House of the French Parliament—with the Advisory Economic and Social Council to form a new consultative body. General de Gaulle also announced that a referendum would be held to consult the nation on reforms to the Senate and changes in regional bodies. He gave no date.
