Assurances From Soviet

WEST BERLIN. The Soviet Union has assured the Western Powers that it is interested in keeping the Ber’in situation calm, according to usually well-in-formed sources. The assurances they say, were given by Soviet ambassadors in Western capitals after the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia, acting under special instructions from the Kremlin.
