Hockey Rep. Suspended

(N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI. A Wellington player, A. Adair, has been suspended for the remainder .of the tournament after ah Incident in which an Otago player was injured in the national men's hockey championships on Thursday. Adair, the Wellington in-side-right, was alleged to have deliberately hit an opponent, H. Ansley (Otago), with his stick during a Challenge Shield match. The judicial committee of the tournament severely reprimanded Adair in addition to suspending him from Wellington’s final game in the championship. The incident occurred after several clashes between the two players. Ansley was treated at the Wanganui Hospital for a suspected brok“n leg, but he was allowed to return to his hotel after X-rays showed the injury to be a bad bruise. He will be unable to play for the rest of the tournament.
